"Art Life: Expressions
of the Heart, Mind, and Soul" is a local showcase of visual,
literary, and performing arts. Art Life's mission is to raise
awareness of artistically gifted individuals living with mental
illness and/or other brain-related disorders. Established in 2012,
our group is made up of employees and volunteers from a group of
agencies in Bay County, including Emerald Coast Behavioral Health
Center, Pyramid, Inc., Global Arts Society, Gulf Coast State
College's Division of Visual and Performing Arts, Kaleidoscope
Theatre, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Mental Health
America, Life Management Center, Second Chance of Northwest Florida,
VSA Florida, Pensacola Care, Inc., The Kennedy Center and others.
Art Life, is seeking sponsors for our upcoming art show to be held
September 8 and 9, 2017. We are a group of agencies, artists, and
individuals in Bay County working together to raise awareness for
mental illness and other brain disorders.
This upcoming event will feature the novel, "Trapped"; a personal
story written by author Jimmy Watson, former Navy Seal, and
illustrated by local artist, Garret Dechellis, along with other
artists from the community, who will be sharing their talents and
awareness of how the arts are bringing freedom to those who live
with the effects of mental illness, or other brain disorders on a
The proceeds from this benefit will go toward helping specific
veterans in need in our community. We are partnering with the Hope
group, Second Chance of Northwest Florida, Bay County Vet Center,
Life Management Center, Mental Health America, NAMI, Global Arts
Society, Pyramid, Inc., and other local
agencies and individuals to help make this event a success.

stigma of mental illness, raise awareness in the community, and
showcase art and it's healing power.
